Cuckoo for chickens......

.........On friday I picked up 5 Cuckoo Maran chicks from a breeder in Kingston. All are hens and when they start laying eggs they will be almost a choclate brown color:

The next day.......

I took these pictures of the baby the next morning of the baby. Shes so cute!

Oh baby!

Our Lamancha doe sweets had her baby saturday morning, one single doe that looks exactly like her! It could have not happened on a more gorgeous day, the weather was in the 70's and sunny!

Holy Sheep!

Saturday morning I went out to Aldergrove Farm, owned by Joyce and Pete Knutsen, on Bainbridge and picked up 3 male Katahdin lambs. Alot of people see these lambs and think they are not sheep. Most sheep have wool but these ones have hair instead, so they look a little different. They are fairly skittish so it was hard to get a good picture.

Rhubarb Pie

I planted 6 Rhubarb plants last year that are now vigorously growing. I can't wait to make some Strawberry-Rhubarb pie!

Buzzzzzzz........

I went to Valley Nursery in Poulsbo and picked up some Mason Bees and a little bee house. The bees are in a tube in the fridge, the cold temp. keeps them in "hibernation" until I take them out and attatch the tube to the house. Once outside in the warmer temps they will wake up and take up residence in this little house you see. They will not produce honey but they will help with pollinatin in my garden and with my fruit trees.
